Communication Guidelines 2021- 2027

Introduction

Improving the visibility of European Funding has become a major priority in recent years. Every year the EuropeanUnion (EU) supports thousands of projects across Europeembodying the most tangible manifestation of the EU on theground. More effective communication of these interventions will help boost awareness of the benefits of the EU to people’s lives. This guide has been developed as a practical handbook, particularly for those directly involced in delivering EU projects on the ground. It explains how your project can meet its regulatory obligations and points to possible ways to best communicate the funding, building on the 2021-2027 provisions.

The guide is designed for programme authorities, beneficiaries, and projects supported by the following funds1:

  • European Regional Development Fund
  • European Social Fund Plus
  • European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund
  • European Union Just Transition Fund
  • Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund
  • Internal Security Fund

All projects co-funded by the EU have a requirement to acknowledge the national support that has been provided.

The regulatory framework sets the minimum requirements under which programmes and projects communicate. However, the success of these efforts ultimately depends on the actual commitment, professionalism, expertise of the involved authorities and project promoters.  Communication should be a central aspect and a primary concern of  programmes and projects, which means going beyond complying with the regulatory provisions.

The EU Funds communication teamis here to support your communication efforts to ensure that as many citizens as possible know about the positive impact that your project is making
